Planning

The time following the death of a partner, a member of your family, or a close friend is never easy.

You need a sympathetic and careful listener who will give you the time you need to talk about the life of the person who has died.

  • When you make your first contact with me there is a chance for you to discuss your initial wishes and concerns, and then we will arrange to meet, and to discuss everything you want for the funeral.
  • At our meeting you share your memories and choose music and readings for the funeral. It helps me if you have a photograph to show me of the person who has died.
  • I then write a ceremony with your loved one in mind, which will include a tribute that captures the essence of that person. You, or anyone you choose, can include poems or original writings. You can check and amend the script.
  • On the day I will lead the ceremony, introducing those who may wish to participate, and conducting any ritual which we have devised. There will be a script for you to keep and to share with friends and relatives.
